Smartphone maker Honor is reportedly working on a new model with a very large battery. The leak was revealed by a tipster, who said that the company has started trial production of the new battery, Gadgets360 reported.
According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the rated capacity for this new model is around 10,690mAh, with typical capacity near 11,000mAh. This would make it one of the biggest smartphone batteries ever used in a mainstream device.

With this move, the brand is pushing its boundaries in providing a massive battery capacity to the users. Earlier this year, it already launched the Honor Power 2 with a massive 10,080mAh battery and 80W wired charging.
The tipster, who shared the information on Chinese platform Weibo, did not reveal the exact phone name. However, the report suggests that it could be part of the Honor Power series.
The Honor Power 2 was launched in China in January with a 10,080mAh battery. It supports 80W wired fast charging and 27W reverse wired charging. It offers up to 14.2 hours of gaming and 17.3 hours of navigation. Similarly, the brand launched its Honor Win series with a 10,000mAh battery with 100W charging support, making it a model with top battery specifications.
The Honor Power 2 has a 6.79-inch AMOLED display with up to 120Hz refresh rate. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Elite chipset. It has IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings. It also sports a 50MP main camera and 16MP selfie camera.
If the brand releases a new model in the series with improved battery, users can expect that its specifications may be nearly identical to those in the Power 2 model. Some of the specifications and design features may also be improved to enhance the experience for the users.
Moreover, a larger battery design may push for potential design changes to accommodate the bigger cell. It could affect the phone's thickness and weight.
