Industrialist Harsh Goenka has warned that the wars of the future may look very different from the conflicts the world has seen so far, with artificial intelligence and autonomous machines playing a central role on the battlefield.
Sharing a roughly two-minute computer-generated video on X, Goenka said the next war may not start with tanks or fighter jets. Instead, he pointed to silent swarms, bird-like drones, autonomous vehicles and AI systems as potential tools of future warfare.
“The battlefield of the future will be won by algorithms. Frightening, the times to come!” Goenka wrote.

The video shared by the RPG Enterprises chairman presents a dramatic depiction of AI-driven warfare. It shows bird-shaped drones flying over snowy terrain and military installations, while tiny insect-like machines approach or attach themselves to military vehicles before explosions and flashes follow.
Other sequences show large swarms of small drones moving through cities and desert landscapes, along with highly miniature robotic machines. The footage portrays a battlefield where machines can operate with limited or no direct human intervention.
Goenka, who frequently comments on technology, business and social developments on social media, used the video to highlight one of the more unsettling possibilities emerging from rapid advances in artificial intelligence: increasingly autonomous systems being deployed in warfare.
The idea, however, is no longer limited to science fiction. Militaries around the world are exploring the use of AI, unmanned vehicles and autonomous systems for surveillance, reconnaissance and other military applications. Drones have already become an important feature of modern conflicts, changing how forces monitor battlefields and strike targets.
Goenka's post draws attention to the possibility that this trend could go much further, with algorithms potentially determining how machines identify threats, navigate environments and respond during combat.
