Rutherford smashes the shorter delivery from Axar flat towards deep midwicket where Tilak tries to take a leaping catch but doesn't get to the ball as it flies over for SIX. He then cuts the next ball through cover for 2. 

10 runs come off the over as the Windies look to drag back the momentum.

India desperately needed a breakthrough and it's no surprise their gun bowler Jasprit Bumrah is the man who comes up with the goods. 

CAUGHT BEHIND! Bumrah's first victim is Hetmyer who swings across the line of the 3rd ball but gets a faint inside edge that Sanju pouches safely. Hetmyer goes for the review as he thinks it's off the thigh pad but there's a faint spike confirming the on-field decision.

Excellent over from Bumrah with just 4 runs and 2 wickets coming off it.

Chakravarthy drops the 2nd delivery a tad too short and sees it sent flying into the stands by Hetmyer who is now the leading six-hitter in the tournament with 19 SIXES. Hetmyer clips the next ball for 2 runs and slaps the 4th delivery through cover for FOUR. 

The West Indies are stepping on the accelerator as 17 runs come off the over. India need another wicket to reign in the Windies.

Now the tournament's joint-highest six hitter, Shimron Hetmyer pulls the 2nd delivery from Hardik high over midwicket to bring up his 17th SIX of the tournament, matching Sahibzada Farhan's tally. 

Hardik loses his radar in the over sending down 3 wide deliveries. It's an expensive over as 13 runs come off it. The Windies haven't let that wicket slow them down. 

West Indies 82/1 after 10 overs.

Suryakumar Yadav now turns to Varun Chakravarthy and the spinner answers his captain's call as he spilts open this opening pair. 

He gives away just 2 runs fof the first 3 balls and then beats Hope with the 4th delivery. 

BOWLED HIM! Hope makes room and looks to cut but is beaten by the quicker delivery from Chakravarthy that beats the blade and sends the bails flying.

Shimron Hetmyer walks out to bat with his Carribean swag and more notably without a helmet and gets off the mark with a single.

Chase brings out the reverse sweep on the 1st delivery against Axar to find the gap for FOUR. That puts the pressure right on the bowler as the two openers safely navigate the rest of the over. 

They keep up their steady climb with 10 runs coming off the over. 

West Indies 66/0 after 8 overs. 

Hardik Pandya returns and he beats the swinging blade of Chase on the second delivery as the opener looks to pull. 

Chase however connects cleanly on the 5th delivery as he smokes it over midwicket for a SIX that brings up the fifty for West Indies. They're going at a good nick now with 11 runs coming off the over. 

West Indies 56/0 after 7 overs. 

Axar dishes out a full-toss to Hope on the 1st delivery and the Windies captain thumps it through cover for FOUR. Chase meanwhile gets low and connects with the sweep on the 5th delivery for another FOUR. 

10 runs come off the over as we reach the end of the powerplay.

Suryakumar finally turns to Jasprit Bumrah who enters the attack. He starts off with two dots before Hope grabs a single off the 3rd ball. 

Chase then takes an innovative approach as he steps across and scoops the 4th delivery high over short fine leg for a one-bounce FOUR. 

DROPPED! Chase swings hard at the next ball and sees it go high towards cover off the top-edge. Abhishek Sharma is the man under it but he puts down a sitter as the ball pops out of his palms. 

7 runs come off the over. 

West Indies 35/0 after 5 overs. 

Axar Patel comes in as India turn to spin in the powerplay. Hope welcomes the change with a strong punch to send the first ball racing past point for FOUR. 

There's a break in play as Chase needs some treatment from the physio, that takes the momentum away as Axar capitalises with 4 dots in a row before Hope finally gets a single on the final delivery to keep strike. 

5 runs come off the over. 

West Indies 28/0 after 4 overs. 

Chase drives the 2nd ball to cover and then darts off for a single without a second look at his partner. He's stranded in no man's land but is then handed a reprieve as Charkravarthy sends down the throw at the wrong end. Had Chakravarthy sent it back to the keeper, Chase would have no chance. 

Chase shakes off the nerves as he lofts the 5th delivery straight back over Arshdeep for FOUR. He drives the last ball beautifully, sending it racing through the gap at extra cover for back-to-back FOURs. 

West Indies 23/0 after 3 overs. 

Hardik gets off to a good start with a series of three dots in a row. The 3rd ball takes a big inside edge and only just misses the stumps as Hope swings.

Hope then meets the next ball with the middle of his bat, launching it over deep midwicket for SIX. Hope charges out and has another heave at the next ball but this time only meets air. 

Hope then caresses the final delivery through the gap at cover for FOUR. Brilliant shot to end the over. 

West Indies 13/0 after 2 overs. 

Arshdeep Singh is right on the money with the new ball as he also finds some swing to keep the Windies pair on their toes. 

Both batters get off the mark with singles as Arshdeep gives away just 3 runs in the over. It's a good sharp start from Arshdeep. 

Now, it appears that it will be Hardik Pandya who will look to keep up the pressure from the other end.

Suryakumar Yadav wins the Toss and says his team will chase today. India have won all their games batting first with their only defeat coming when chasing against South Africa. Will they grab their first victory batting second in the tournament today? 

George Linde and Tristan Stubbs have taken this game away from the Chevrons with a stubborn sixth-wicket stand. The pair have added 40-plus runs to the total and are now within touching distance of a seventh straight win in the competition. 

South Africa are just 16 runs away from a win with 24 balls to get there. 

South Africa 138/5 after 16 overs.

India come into this game on the back of a morale-boosting victory against Zimbabwe. In a must-win encounter, a rejigged Playing XI with Sanju Samson and Axar Patel returning to the squad went on to post the tournament's highest total of 256/4. 

Arshdeep Singh then took 3/24 to become India's leading bowler for India at the T20 World Cup, overtaking teammate Jasprit Bumrah with his tally of 35 wickets, as Zimbabwe were restricted to 184/6, losing by 72 runs. 

West Indies meanwhile come into this game on the back of a 9-wicket drubbing at the hands of a rampant South Africa. Romario Shepherd (52*) and Jason Holder (49) helped the Windies recover from an early collapse to post 176/8. 

That total was quickly chased down by The Proteas within 16.1 overs to win with 23 balls and 9 wickets to spare.

Ryan Burl took an absolute screamer in the deep to get rid of a well-set Ryan Rickelton (31) in the 6th over. Dewald Brevis and David Miller then teamed up to swing momentum back in the Proteas' favour adding a quick 50 off just 25 balls. 

The pair were finally split by Blessing Muzarabani who got Miller (22) caught at short third in the 10th over. Raza then returned to get rid of Brevis (42 off 18 balls) in the very next over ensuring the Proteas now have two new men at the crease. 

South Africa need 51 from 54 balls to win. Zimbabwe meanwhile are hunting for five more wickets. 

South Africa 103/5 after 11 overs. 

Local curator Sujan Mukherjee has indicated that Pitch No. 5 or 6 is set to host this contest at Eden Gardens. 

Pitch no. 6 is the same surface which previously produced Scotland's 207/4 against Italy, suggesting high-scoring potential. Built on black soil, it traditionally offers grip as the game progresses, although in the lead up to the tournament, additional watering has ensured a healthy grass coverage to ensure balance between bat and ball.

Going into the final game of the Super 8, India are just below West Indies on the points table courtesy an inferior Net Run Rate. However, a win tonight will see the Men in Blue leapfrog the Carribean side to take that final semifinal spot. 

Yesterday, Pakistan secured a win but were knocked out of the tournament on NRR after finishing level on points with New Zealand.

The Chevrons who have been eliminated from the tournament are looking to exit with a big statement against Group 1 leaders South Africa who are already through to the semis. 

The one leading the charge is none other than their inspiring captain Sikandar Raza who scored a blistering 73 off 43 balls on a tricky Delhi surface to help his team post 153/7 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. 

Raza then sent back Quinton de Kock on a duck in the 1st over before returning to get rid of his counterpart Aiden Markram in the 3rd over to give his team the perfect start in the chase. 

South Africa 30/2 after 5 overs. 

With West Indies holding the advantage of a superior Net Run Rate, in the event of a washout it will be the Carribean side who will progress if the points are split between the two teams. 

However, Team India fans will be glad to know that according to multiple forecasts, rain is highly unlikely to impact the contest.
