Raipur's decade long-wait to host a Indian Premier League game is over! The previous IPL game that was played at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium was between Delhi Daredevils and Royal Challengers Banglore (know rechristened as Royal Challengers Bengaluru) in May 2016.
And the city couldn't have asked for a better fixture than a face-off between defending champions RCB and five-time IPL winners Mumbai Indians. Technically it is RCB's home game. When the IPL's schedule for the season was released, it was known that RCB will be playing its two "home" games here.
RCB, who are placed fourth on the IPL points tally, will be looking to make the most of their remaining four league-stage games in order to qualify for the playoffs. MI have had disappointing campaign this term and are stuck at ninth spot. Mumbai will be looking to inject some late momentum and end the season on a high.
While RCB were beaten by Lucknow Super Giants in their previous game, MI beat LSG in their last outing.

The India Meterological Department has forecast that the city is likely to experience partly cloudy sky with possibility of rain or thunderstorm or duststorm on Sunday. The maximum temperature is going to be around 39°C with minimum temperature expected to be 23°C.
