Manchester City's loss also marked a tough first competitive outing for Enzo Maresca in charge of the team. The Italian took over from legendary manager Pep Guardiola ahead of the new campaign.

The triumph is Arsenal's 18th Community Shield title, while it's also their first win over City in the fixture since their 2023 penalty shootout victory.
