US Market Recap

Major indices ended lower on Monday with S&P 500 dipping less than 0.1% and tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 Index dropped 0.4%. Micron Technology Inc. fell 6% as investors looked for labour action against rival Samsung Electronics that could disrupt memory-chip supplies, Bloomberg reported. Ahead of results scheduled later this week, Nvidia fell 1.3%.

Asian Market Update

Asia-Pacific markets opened broadly higher on Tuesday with easing oil prices. Ahead of Japananese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and South Korean President Lee Jae Myung meeting today, Japan's Nikkei 225 rose 0.68%, while the Topix gained 1.16%.  South Korea's Kospi dropped 1.06% and the small-cap Kosdaq remained flat. Hong Kong's Hang Seng futures stood at 25,558, lower than the index's last close of 25,675.18.

Oil prices dropped after US President Donald Trump said he had called off a planned military strike on Iran, raising hopes that renewed negotiations could ease tensions in the Middle East and eventually restore disrupted crude flows.
