Lloyd Metals reported a strong sequential performance in the June quarter, with consolidated net profit rising 22% to Rs 1,727 crore from Rs 1,420 crore in the previous quarter, supported by robust revenue growth and a sharp increase in other income.

Consolidated revenue from operations also climbed 22% quarter-on-quarter to Rs 7,355 crore, compared with Rs 6,020 crore in the preceding quarter, indicating a significant improvement in the company's top-line performance.

However, the rise in EBITDA was slower than revenue growth, resulting in a contraction in the operating margin. EBITDA margin stood at 38% in the June quarter, down from 42% in the previous quarter.

A sharp increase in other income also aided the bottom line. Other income surged to Rs 128 crore from Rs 11 crore sequentially, providing an additional boost to consolidated profit.

The quarterly numbers point to a mixed operating picture for Lloyd Metals, with strong growth across profit and revenue offset by pressure on operating margins.

Investors will likely track the sustainability of revenue growth and the company's ability to restore margins in the coming quarters, particularly as the impact of operating costs and other income on overall profitability comes under focus.
