Upon successful execution of the Phase-1 order, the programme is expected to progress to Phase-2, which envisages the serial production and supply of AESA radar systems over a period of five years, subject to contractual terms and programme requirements.

"This AESA radar systems programme represents a significant opportunity for Centum to demonstrate its system-level design, development, and manufacturing capabilities in advanced radar and mission-critical defence electronics, while further strengthening its long-standing relationship with HAL," the statement said.

The Utility Helicopter-Maritime is an indigenous, twin-engine helicopter developed by HAL for the Indian Navy. Designed to replace aging Chetak helicopters, it focuses on ship-borne operations, including maritime surveillance, search & rescue (SAR), and logistics, with induction expected between 2027 and 2030.
