Adani Enterprises Likely To Be Included In Sensex Semi-Annual Review: IIFL Alternative Research

The semi-annual review of the BSE 100 index could see the inclusion of three Adani stocks, the report said.

Billionaire Gautam Adani's flagship company, Adani Enterprises Ltd., may be added to the S&P BSE Sensex index during its semi-annual review, according to IIFL Alternative Research. 

The flagship company of the ports-to-power conglomerate will attract a net inflow of up to $118 million due to the inclusion, the brokerage said in a report. India's tech giant, Wipro Ltd. could face exclusion from the Sensex June review, the report said.

Similarly, the semi-annual review of the BSE 100 index could see the inclusion of three Adani stocks: Adani Green Energy Ltd., Adani Power Ltd., and Adanu Green Energy Solutions Ltd.

While, Page Industries Ltd., SBI Cards and Payment Services Ltd., ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Co., Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. and Jubilant Foodworks Ltd. will likely be cut from the BSE 100 index.

The BSE 100 review is expected to take place on May 24, with adjustments for the change taking effect on June 21, according to the report.

Shares of all the Adani Group companies were trading higher on Thursday led by gains in Adani Enterprises Ltd. and NDTV. The group's flagship rose by 3.12% while shares of NDTV rose 2.78% as of 11:59 a.m.

Adani Group's market capitalisation on Wednesday regained the $200 billion mark (Rs 16.9 lakh crore). With a gain of Rs 11,300 crore on Wednesday, the conglomerate, which spans industries from apples to airports, increased its market capitalisation by Rs 56,250 crore over the last two trading sessions, according to stock exchange data.
