Kajol has been one of those Bollywood stars who doesn't sugarcoats things as she expresses wholeheartedly. In a conversation on Lilly Singh's podcast, the Bollywood icon opened up on parenthood and about the "irrational" and "illogical" three-year struggle she faced while parenting her daughter, Nysa Devgan.
Kajol and Ajay Devgan, who married in 1999, have two children together, Nysa Devgan and Yug Devgan. In a recent podcast with Lilly Singh, Kajol spoke candidly about Gen Z, her parenting, and also fashion disagreements on sets.
While talking about her daughter Nysa, Kajol said, "I have a lot of talks with her, I talk her through things. It's a relationship that we had to build. Hormones hit, and she was 12. And we were all over the place. We were fighting, and we were both irrational at times. We were both illogical at times."

The actor, known for her fiery personality, realized that as the adult in the room, she had to be the one to break the cycle of conflict. "Being the adult, I stood up, and I said, I should be a little more rational. I decided that I am not going to fight with her that much; I'm going to try to talk to her. As much as I can talk to her till she starts listening to me. And work with her."
Struggling while parenting Nysa for about three years, Kajol revealed how her approach from talking to Nysa to simply listening to her became her biggest learning.
"We both struggled for nearly three years. Both of us were like, I don't want to listen to you, I don't want to talk to you. But eventually it became conversations, long conversations," she said.
"Then I realised that it was more about just me sitting down and listening to her. It was not about talking so much. It was just about giving her space to talk herself and to be heard. That made the biggest difference. That was my biggest learning."
Kajol's Birthday Wish To Daughter Nysa
On April 20, 2026, Kajol posted a heartfelt note to wish Nysa for her 23rd birthday. Expressing how blessed she was, Kajol wrote, "I am so blessed .. she was born and the world changed.. I thank God everyday for You my darling .. u are perfect and all mine always."

Kajol's Projects
Kajol was last seen in the films Maa and the Prime Video film Sarzameen. Interestingly, she portrayed the character of a mother in both these films. Apart from films, she also hosted the talk show, Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle, alongside Twinkle Khanna.
For her upcoming projects, she is set to feature in Maharagni: Queen of Queens with Naseeruddin Shah, Prabhu Deva, Samyuktha, and others.
