Actor and producer Patrick Muldoon has died at the age of 57 after reportedly suffering a heart attack on April 19, 2026. His sudden passing has come as a shock to fans and the film industry, as he had been a familiar face on screen for many years.

Muldoon was born in 1968 in San Pedro, California, and had a strong academic and sports background before entering acting. He studied at the University of Southern California, where he also played football for the Trojans team.

Roles On Television And Films

Interestingly, he began acting while still in college, starting with a small role in the sitcom Who's the Boss?. Soon after graduating in 1991, he appeared in Saved By the Bell, which helped him gain early recognition.

He became widely known for playing Austin Reed in the long-running popular soap opera Days of Our Lives. He first played the role from 1992 to 1995 and later returned to it between 2011 and 2012. He also appeared in Melrose Place, where he played Richard Hart, a character that added drama and intensity to the show.

On the film side, Muldoon is best remembered for his role in the 1997 sci-fi movie Starship Troopers, directed by Paul Verhoeven. Over the years, he worked in many television films and shows, showing his range as an actor. His latest film, Dirty Hands, is expected to be released later this year.

Behind The Camera

Apart from acting, he was also active behind the camera. He worked as an executive producer on films like The Tribes of Palos Verdes, Arkansas, Marlowe, The Card Counter, The Dreadful, and Riff Raff. He was also involved in the upcoming film Kockroach, which is currently in production and features a star-studded cast.

Muldoon also loved music. He was the lead singer of a band called The Sleeping Masses and often performed with his guitar.

He is survived by his partner Miriam Rothbart, his parents Deanna and Patrick Muldoon Sr., and his sister Shana Zappa, along with her husband Ahmet Zappa and their children.
