Kannada actor-filmmaker Rishab Shetty has expressed strong confidence in Jai Hanuman, the upcoming sequel to the blockbuster Hanu-Man, describing it as a film with both scale and a meaningful core. The socio-fantasy project, directed by Prashanth Varma, was recently launched with a grand muhurat ceremony in Hampi, marking the formal beginning of what is being mounted as one of the most ambitious pan-India productions in recent times.

Speaking during his visit to the pilgrim village of Mantralayam, Shetty confirmed filming was yet to commence, but said the team was preparing for something special. He said they were making a fantastic film on Hanuman that would carry a strong and meaningful message for audiences. According to the actor, the true magnitude of the film would become clear once the teaser and trailer were released. He expressed confidence the scale and vision would resonate with viewers across the country.
Rishab, who has acted and directed his own films in recent years — most notably Kantara— also opened up about what draws him to a role. He said that for any actor, the deciding factor is the emotional connection to the character when a director narrates the story. Backing from committed producers, he added, gives artistes the confidence to take on such roles and bring them to life on screen.

The collaboration is significant as it brings together Rishab Shetty, Telugu filmmaker Prashanth Varma and leading production house Mythri Movie Makers. With a reported budget of around Rs 200 crore, Jai Hanuman is being planned as a large-scale socio-fantasy entertainer with a clear pan-India strategy.
When asked about the possibility of making a film on Mantralayam's much-loved and respected saint Rayaru, Shetty responded cautiously, saying the subject was not easy and required deep responsibility. He added it was too early to commit to such a project.
Following the success of Hanu-Man, expectations for the sequel are high, and Shetty's casting has further whipped up curiosity about the film. With pre-production underway and shooting yet to begin, Jai Hanuman is already generating considerable buzz.
