According to a report from Filmibeat, the Jana Nayagan team is now eyeing a June 2026 window, possibly on June 22, 2026, perfectly aligning with Vijay's birthday. The date is believed to offer a strong emotional connection with fans, turning the film into a grand celebration.

However, the film faced certification disputes with the Central Board of Film Certification. The situation worsened in April when there were leaks of the film online. Several Tamil stars united to stand against digital piracy. The leak also led to the arrest of individuals involved.
