With the release of Dhurandhar: The Revenge just around the corner, the buzz at the box office is already impossible to ignore. The sequel to the successful spy thriller will open to theatres on March 19. But, the advance booking numbers are already making headlines. Fans will get a chance to watch the Aditya Dhar film on March 18 through paid preview shows.
According to early trade estimates, Dhurandhar 2 has already set a new record for the biggest premiere collection for an Indian film. The paid preview shows alone have grossed Rs 37.5 crore at the domestic market, reported Sacnilk.
This means the film has already crossed the previous premiere record held by OG starring Pawan Kalyan. That film had earned around Rs 25 crore during its premiere shows last year.
Trade insiders say if bookings continue at the current pace, Dhurandhar: The Revenge could cross Rs 40 crore from preview shows by Wednesday itself. Regular booking for standard shows, which begin on Thursday, opened on Saturday. Even in this short window, the response from audiences has been strong.

Dhurandhar 2's Earnings So Far
So far, the film has reportedly earned Rs 23 crore gross in advance ticket sales for its opening day alone. Close to 10 lakh tickets have already been sold across preview and opening day shows. Industry trackers also suggest that the film's total domestic advance booking for the entire paid preview shows weekend has already crossed Rs 60 crore. The combined total for the opening window currently stands at over 120 crore.
Notably, advance ticket sales for the previews opened alongside the trailer release on March 7 but the wider booking for the opening weekend only began last weekend. Since then, ticket sales have picked up rapidly and looking at the numbers, it seems that the film is all geared up to script history and break records.
Dhurandhar 2 Cast
Dhurandhar 2 brings Ranveer Singh alongside R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi as they are set to reprise their roles from the first film. Akshaye Khanna, who played Rehman Dakait in the first part, is expected to make a cameo in the sequel.
