US-Iran Conflict: Delhi Airport Issues Travel Advisory, Top Airlines Extend Flight Suspensions

Air India and IndiGo have extended the suspension of all flights to and from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Israel and Qatar until 11:59 p.m. IST on 2 March 2026.

Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport issued a travel advisory on Monday due to the ongoing tensions in the Middle East. 

With the geopolitical crisis leading to long delays and cancellations of westbound international flights, the Delhi airport has advised passengers to check with their airlines before travelling to the affected regions.

“Due to the evolving political situation in the Middle East, westbound international flights continue to experience disruptions and schedule changes. Passengers are advised to check the latest flight updates with their respective airlines before heading to the airport,” it said.

The airport advised passengers to only rely on official communication channels for verified information and updates. It also shared the details of its official website to keep passengers updated with the latest information on their flight status.

According to the authorities, passengers can get real-time, updated information on their journey status through the official website of the airport: www.newdelhiairport.in.

“We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this period,” it noted.

The latest advisory from Delhi airport comes as several flights remain suspended or cancelled while tensions in the Middle East continue.

Air India, IndiGo and Others Cancel Flights

According to NDTV, Air India and IndiGo have extended the suspension of all flights to and from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Israel and Qatar until 11:59 p.m. IST on March 2.

Qatar Airways will resume flights once the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority confirms that the airspace has been safely reopened. Emirates has also temporarily halted all operations to and from Dubai until 4:30 p.m. IST on Monday, March 2. Etihad flights to and from Abu Dhabi remain suspended until 3:30 p.m. IST on the same day.

Airlines Offer Refund, Re-Booking

Top airlines such as Emirates have shared options for passengers booked to travel on or before March 5. Passengers scheduled to fly with Emirates may book another flight to their destination within 20 days of the original travel date or can seek a refund.

Similarly, Air India, IndiGo and other Indian airlines have also shared details of alternative arrangements for their affected passengers.

In an X post, Air India said: “Air India regrets the inconvenience caused to affected guests and is committed to assisting them with alternative arrangements. Guests with affected bookings are being notified of their registered contact details.”

IndiGo informed its passengers that it will continue to share updates via the contact information shared during booking. 

It also said that passengers seeking to explore alternate travel options or claim a refund for their booking may visit: https://goindigo.in/plan-b.html.​ 

IndiGo noted that it is monitoring Middle East developments carefully and is taking calm and responsible decisions for affected international flights during ongoing tensions.
