Four people have lost their lives after falling from a fast local train in Mumbai. Thane District Administration told NDTV that around 13 people fell off from a local train. Out of the 13 individuals, four deaths have been confirmed, two have been reported to be critically injured and have been shifted to a private hospital called Jupiter Hospital, and seven are out of danger and under treatment at Kalwa Hospital.

It is likely that the fall was caused by overcrowding. The victims of the incident are reported to have been travelling on the footboard of the train.
