Mumbai will get new non-AC train coaches by November 2025, as per latest reports on Monday, after four passengers died and six were injured when they fell from a moving overcrowded local train in Thane district.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, along with senior officials from the Railway Board, held an emergency meeting with the Integral Coach Factory or ICF team in Chennai to address a long-standing issue -- ventilation in non-AC local trains with automatic doors.
