A 33-year-old man succumbed to his injuries on Sunday, ten days after a sport utility vehicle (SUV) allegedly driven by a 17-year-old minor boy hit his scooter in Mumbai, a police official told news agency PTI. Victim Dhurmil Patel's wife Minal Patel, who was also riding with him at the time of the accident, is in a critical condition. The Juvenile Justice Board granted bail to the minor citing his upcoming Class 12 Board exams.
The couple was seriously injured after a speeding Kia Seltos, allegedly driven at high speed by the minor, rammed into their scooter near Somaiya College in the Vidyavihar area on February 5.
Mumbai Police told news agency ANI, "Dhurmil Patel, who was seriously injured in a car accident in the Vidyavihar area of ​​Mumbai late on February 5, died in hospital yesterday. His wife, Meenal Patel, who was seriously injured in the accident, remains in critical condition and is undergoing treatment."
The Tilak Nagar police have registered a case under sections 184 and 199 of the Motor Vehicles Act and sections 125, 125(a), 125(b), and 281 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The SUV was allegedly owned by the boy's father Valji Raja Bhushan. A case has been registered against 43-year-old Valji Raja Bhushan, the father of the 17-year-old minor who was driving the car while the main accused minor has been granted bail.

A site inspection has been conducted, and CCTV footage from the area was examined to establish the speed of the car and the circumstances leading to the accident. Further investigation is underway.
