The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) lottery 2026 has received over 8,000 applications for 2,640 budget-friendly residences in Mumbai, within a week after announcing the draw.
As per information provided by MHADA, the housing authority received 8,218 applications for 2,640 flats till the evening of April 5, 2026. Furthermore, the state housing authority has received 4,032 Earnest Money Deposits (EMDs) from individuals aiming to get these flats in lottery.
Deadline for applications of MHADA 2026 Lottery
The deadline for submitting applications is April 29, 2026. The final date for online earnest money deposits (EMD) will be April 30, 2026, and transactions can be processed through RTGS and NEFT. Prospective buyers can apply via the website https://housing.mhada.gov.in.
The MHADA apartments for sale are located in neighbourhoods such as Vikhroli, Goregaon, and Borivali. Based on the listings, out of the 1,762 apartments in progress, 128 are in Borivali East, 85 are in Goregaon West, and the remainder are situated in Kanamwar Nagar and Vikhroli.

Category-Wise Allocation
145 units are allocated for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), 858 units for the Lower Income Group (LIG), 1,408 units for the Middle-Income Group (MIG), and 229 units for the Upper Income Group (UIG).
The most expensive flat offered by MHADA is positioned in the Tardeo area of South Mumbai, within the High Income Group (HIG), listed at Rs. 6.82 crore. The most budget-friendly house available for sale by MHADA is in Mankhurd, designated for the Economic Weaker Section (EWS), with a price tag of over Rs. 29 lakh.
The final list of accepted applications for the lottery will be made public on May 12, ahead of the lottery event on May 15.
