The results of the Class 10 board exam were announced by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) on May 8 at a press conference in their Pune office. Moreover, 16 lakh students registered for the Maharashtra SSC test; out of those, 15.42 lakh students appeared, and 14.20 lakh passed. Overall, 92.09% of students passed this year.

Along with results, the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) published other key statistics like statewide overall performance and overall subject-wise performance.

Statewide Overall Performance

For fresh regular candidates, Maharashtra's SSC February 2026 exam saw a strong performance overall, with 1,420,486 students passing out of 1,542,472 who appeared, taking the overall pass percentage to 92.09%. Division-wise, Konkan topped the state with 97.62%, followed by Kolhapur at 95.47%, Mumbai at 94.97%, Pune at 94.24%, Nashik at 90.53%, Amravati at 90.50%, Nagpur at 89.07%, Latur at 88.42%, and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar at 88.41%, reflecting a broad spread of strong results across the board.

For private candidates, the result was more moderate, with 22,003 students passing out of 28,825 who appeared, for an overall pass percentage of 76.33%. Among the divisions, Kolhapur recorded the best performance at 80.44%, followed by Nasik at 79.90%, Amravati at 79.58%, Konkan at 79.57%, and Nagpur at 78.21%, Mumbai at 77.18%, Pune at 74.41%, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar at 67.34% and Latur at 63.72%, showing a mixed but generally lower success rate than fresh regular students.

For repeaters, the board reported 9,757 students passing out of 28,867 who appeared, bringing the overall pass percentage down to 33.79%. Division-wise, Nasik led repeater performance at 47.17%, followed by Konkan at 39.03%, Amravati at 38.41%, Nagpur at 35.02%, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar at 31.75%, Kolhapur at 31.08%, Pune at 30.74%, Mumbai at 30.66%, and Latur at 28.74%, underlining the tougher outcome for students appearing again.

Statewide overall performance in individual subjects

The Maharashtra State Board's SSC February 2026 subject-wise results show very strong statewide performance in core papers, led by English (1st language) with a 97.88% pass rate, followed by Marathi (2/3 language) at 96.68%, Social Sciences at 95.86%, Urdu (1st language) at 95.47%, Science & Technology at 94.35%, and Marathi (1st language) at 92.57%.

Mathematics also recorded a healthy 93.78% pass rate, while Hindi (1st language) stood at 89.69% and Hindi (2/3 language) at 92.75%, reflecting broad success across major subjects.

The vocational and technical subjects performed even better overall, with several papers reporting near-universal results. Mechanical Technology posted 99.89%, Electrical Technology 99.95%, Electronics Technology 100%, Domestic Data Entry Operator 100%, Power-Consumer Energy Meter 99.93%, Physical Activity Facilitator 100%, Apparel-Sewing Machine Operator 99.83%, Assistant Plumber-General 100%, and Micro Finance Executive 99.78%.

Among language combinations, Sanskrit, Pali and Arabic in the 2/3 language category also recorded exceptionally high pass percentages, including 99.21%, 99.62% and 99.59%, respectively, showing strong overall subject-wise performance in the state.
