The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Wednesday, Feb 4 has released the JEE Main Answer Key 2026 for Paper 1 on their official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. Along with provisional key, candidates who have appeared for Joint Entrance Examination for Session 1 can also check and download the response sheet through the official website of NTA JEE.
The National Testing Agency conducted the JEE (Main) — 2026 Session 1 on Jan 28 (Paper 1: B.E./ B. Tech.) and on January 29 (Paper 2A: B. Arch. and Paper 2B: B. Planning) at 642 Centres located in 311 Cities across the country and 15 Cities outside India.
The JEE Main 2026 provisional answer key objection window is now open and will close on Feb 6, 2026, upto 11:50 p.m. Candidates can challenge the provisional answer key with a non-refundable online payment of Rs 200 per question.
How to Raise Objection For JEE Main 2026
To raise objections for JEE Main 2026, follow these steps:
- Please go to the website https://jeeinain.nta.nic.in/
- Click Challenge (s) regarding Answer Key'.
- Login with your Application Number and Password, enter the Captcha Code as displayed and Submit.
- lick Challenge (s) regarding Answer Key'.
- You will see the Question IDs for JEE (Main) — 2026 Session 1 (January 2026)
- The ID next to the question under the column ‘Correct Option' stands for the most appropriate Answer Key by NTA.
- If you wish to challenge this option, you fuse any one or more of the Option IDs given in the next four columns by clicking the check box
- You may upload supporting documents for which you can select ‘Choose File and Upload' (all
- documents to be put in a single PDF file).
- After clicking your desired option, for Mathematics / Physics / Chemistry for Paper 1 (B.E./B. Tech.), scroll down and ‘Save your claim' and move on to the next screen.
- You will see a display of all the Option IDs you have challenged.
- Click on ‘Save your claim and Pay Fee finally'.
- Select the Mode of Payment and Pay a non-refundable processing fee at Rs 200/- for each question challenged. Make payment through Debit Card / Credit Card / Net Banking.
The JEE Main Session 1 result is expected on Thursday, Feb12. The NTA said that no challenge will be entertained without receipt of the processing fee. The fee towards the challenge will not be accepted through any other mode.
If challenge(s) made by the candidate is found correct, the Answer Key will be revised and applied in the response of all the candidates accordingly. Based on the revised Final Answer Keys, the result will be prepared and declared. No individual candidate will be informed about the acceptance or non-acceptance of his or her challenge. The keys finalised by the Experts after the settlement of the challenge will be final.

To calculate your JEE Main Session 1, 2026 score, check your answers. Each correct will award you four marks while any wrong answer will, there is a negative marking of -1. Unattempted answers fetch zero marks.
