The Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati (IITG), has yet to unveil the GATE Answer Key 2026. Aspirants who participated in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering 2026 can obtain the provisional key from the official IIT GATE website at gate2026.iitg.ac.in.

Follow these steps to download the GATE 2026 answer key

Step 1: Navigate to the official portal gate2026.iitg.ac.in.

Step 2: Click on the link for the GATE Answer Key 2026 located on the main page.

Step 3: Input the necessary login information.

Step 4: Submit your details to view the provisional answer key.

Step 5: Download the answer key and retain a hard copy for future use.

Steps to submit objections against the GATE 2026 Preliminary Answer Key

If there's a mistake, candidates are encouraged to submit objections regarding the answer key. Follow the steps outlined below:

Step 1: Go to the official site at gate2026.iitg.ac.in

Step 2: Click on the link for the GOAPS portal

Step 3: Input your Enrolment ID/Email Address and password.

Step 4: Click on the ‘Answer Key Objection' option

Step 5: Select the questions you wish to contest by clicking on the link

Step 6: Pay a non-refundable fee of Rs 500 for each question

Step 7: Attach relevant documents for your challenge to be reviewed.

Exam and result dates

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2026) took place on Feb. 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026. The examination comprised three categories of questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Multiple Select Questions (MSQs), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT). The announcement of the GATE 2026 results is scheduled for March 19, 2026.

The objection portal will be activated concurrently with the provisional key. To submit objections, candidates will need to pay a 500 per question processing fee for each objection. All disputes will be evaluated by subject specialists.

If a contention is deemed legitimate, the answer guide will be updated. The ultimate answer guide will be published following this procedure, and the GATE 2026 outcome will be formulated based on it. No disputes will be tolerated after the cutoff date.
