The India Meteorological Department has forecast a gradual rise in temperatures over the next four to five days, with a heat wave likely to develop in parts of North and Central India.
IMD Scientist Naresh Kumar told ANI that while current temperatures are normal or below average, a heat wave is expected to hit West Rajasthan on June 9. The heat wave conditions may extend to South Punjab, South Haryana, South Uttar Pradesh, and North Madhya Pradesh on June 10.
In South India, the monsoon is expected to revive across the entire peninsula in the next three to four days, with heavy rainfall likely in Kerala, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.
For Delhi and the National Capital Region, there is no heat wave warning. However, temperatures are expected to rise by 2–4°C in the next three to four days, possibly reaching 43–44°C.
