Is Friday, June 6, a national holiday? The internet is abuzz with multiple reports claiming that the central government has declared a national holiday tomorrow, with some of them claiming that banks and even schools will remain closed across states. This has left many confused, especially in the wake of Eid al-Adha, also known as Bakrid.
Eid-ul-Adha, one of the major festivals celebrated by Muslims worldwide, is marked on the 10th day of the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah.
On X, a few users have claimed that Friday is a public holiday, "leading to nationwide closures".
Notably, there is no national holiday on Friday. The banks, schools and other government institutions will remain operational as usual, except for the bank holiday in Kerala.
