A masked man who drove a car through one of the boundary gates of the Delhi Assembly complex, triggering a major security scare, was arrested on Monday within hours of the incident.
The accused has been identified as Sarabjit Singh. Police also arrested two others and the vehicle was later recovered from Roop Nagar, a residential area in North Delhi.
The man fled the scene after breaching security barricades and leaving behind a bouquet, raising alarm among authorities.
The incident occurred around 2 pm, when the car broke through Gate No. 2 to enter the Assembly premises. The vehicle, bearing a Uttar Pradesh registration number, forcibly entered through the VIP gate, where CRPF personnel were deployed for security. He was reportedly carrying a bouquet and a bag, and was seen wearing marigold garlands around his neck as he proceeded further into the complex.

Security agencies later traced and arrested the suspect. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
"Three people have been detained. The car was recovered, and the accused were caught in north Delhi," reported PTI quoting a police officer.
Meanwhile, forensic experts examined the flower bouquet that was allegedly kept inside the assembly premises. The bomb disposal squad and dog squad conducted a thorough sweep of the area to rule out any explosive threat.
A Delhi Secretariat official that the driver proceeded towards the office of Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta and placed a flower bouquet near the porch before retreating.
The incident took place after the Assembly received bomb threats during the recently concluded budget session, adding to the seriousness of the breach.
Police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
