Adani Ports Sets A New Record, Largest Container Ship Docks At Mundra Port

MSC Anna, one of the largest vessels, was docked at Mundra Port, the flagship of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd. on May 26.

"The vessel, MSC Anna, docked on 26 May, marking a significant milestone for both the port and the country’s maritime industry," the company said in a statement.

MSC Anna boasts an overall length of 399.98 m and a staggering capacity of 19,200 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units), making it the largest container ship by capacity to ever visit an Indian port, it said.

During its stay, the expected exchange is 12,500 TEUs, underscoring Mundra Port’s capability to manage largescale cargo efficiently.

"Its arrival draft is 16.3 m, which can be accommodated only at Adani Ports, Mundra, as no other port in India is capable of berthing a deep-draft vessel," the statement added.

In July 2023, Adani Ports, Mundra berthed MV MSC Hamburg, one of the longest container ships in the world, with overall length of 399 m and capacity of 16,652 TEUs.

The company's net profit rose in the fourth quarter of last financial year. Net profit increased 76.87% to Rs 2,014.8 crore in the January to March period.

India's largest private port operator's consolidated revenue rose 18.96% to Rs 6,896.5 crore, compared with Rs 5,796.85 crore, meeting estimates.
