Godrej Family Buys Two Sea-Facing Luxury Apartments Worth Rs 294 Crore In Mumbai's Worli

Tanya Dubash, executive director at Godrej Industries Group and member of the prominent Godrej family, has purchased two luxury ocean-view apartments in a premium residential tower along Mumbai's Worli Sea Face for over Rs 294 crore, marking one of India's most expensive residential transactions based on per square foot valuation, according to ET.

The two apartments, valued at more than Rs 2.5 lakh per sq ft, are located on the 19th and 20th floors of the ultra-luxurious Naman Xana tower. Each unit features a carpet area of approximately 5,812 sq ft along with a 645 sq ft balcony, bringing the combined area of both homes to over 11,500 sq ft, excluding balconies, as per the report.

The 19th-floor apartment was purchased directly from the project developer Shree Naman Residency, while the 20th-floor unit was acquired from Karp Estate, as per ET. This latest acquisition strengthens the Godrej family's foothold in the skyscraper, adding to their earlier purchase of a luxury duplex spanning the 30th and 31st floors for Rs 225.76 crore. That apartment, also secured through a firm associated with Tanya Dubash, comprises 9,214 sq ft of carpet area and a 1,227 sq ft balcony.

Other billionaire residents

The Naman Xana tower has emerged as one of India's most expensive residential addresses, attracting billionaire entrepreneurs, industrial magnates, and corporate leaders. Among its high-profile residents is pharmaceutical tycoon Leena Gandhi Tewari, who acquired two duplex units for Rs 639 crore at approximately Rs 2.83 lakh per sq ft, setting a benchmark for luxury real estate transactions in the country.

Worli's stretch along the sea face has earned the moniker "billionaires' row", with buyers including members of the Godrej family, pharmaceutical moguls, and prominent banking and business dynasties. The area has witnessed a surge in ultra-luxury residential sales in recent years, fuelled by infrastructure projects such as the Mumbai Coastal Road and strong demand for spacious sea-view properties in south and central Mumbai.

Tanya Dubash, the eldest daughter of Adi Godrej, serves on the boards of several publicly listed Godrej group subsidiaries, including Godrej Consumer Products and Godrej Agrovet.
