Bharti Airtel Ltd. clarified that the report alleging that Airtel customers' data has been compromised is "a disparate attempt to tarnish Airtel's reputation".
The telecom major posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, that it has done a thorough investigation and there is no breach of data from their systems.
July 5, 2024A post by Dark Web Informer on X said that an agent named xenZen is reportedly offering a dataset of 375 million Airtel India users. The data base included mobile number, name, date of birth, Aadhaar card, email address among other personal details.

This comes weeks after 278 GB data of Bharat Sanchar Network Ltd. including International Subscriber Mobile Identity, SIM card details, Home Location Register data and critical security keys were put on sale on BreachForums, a site know for data sale. The hacker had later claimed that he had over 4 TB data.
