The company also saw the number of first-time bookers from India more than double from a year earlier, pointing to a sharp expansion in its customer base.
The April-June quarter marked another strong period for Airbnb in India, which the company identified as one of its fastest-growing origin markets globally.
The rise suggests that Airbnb is gaining traction among Indian travellers looking beyond conventional accommodation options. The company said the increase in first-time guests reflects growing interest in distinctive stays and more experience-led travel.
“India continues to be a strong growth market for Airbnb,” Amanpreet Singh Bajaj, Country Head for India and Southeast Asia, reportedly said, adding that the company plans to keep investing in its host community and improving the guest experience.
Asia Pacific Continues To Drive Airbnb Growth
India's performance was part of a broader expansion across the Asia Pacific region. Airbnb said the region recorded high-teens growth in nights and seats booked compared with Q2 2025, with India and Japan continuing to show strong momentum.

FIFA World Cup Creates New Supply
The 2026 FIFA World Cup provided another growth opportunity for Airbnb during the quarter.
As an official Tournament Supporter, the company hosted millions of guest arrivals during the tournament. The event also brought new accommodation supply to the platform, with more than 150,000 homes across host cities listed on Airbnb for the first time.
Airbnb said it wants to build on this model through partnerships around major global and regional events. Its partners include the International Olympic Committee, Tour de France, Art Basel fairs, Lollapalooza festivals, La Liga in Spain and NASCAR.
The company believes such partnerships can help drive travel demand while expanding its presence in destinations hosting major events.

Airbnb expects the momentum to continue in the current quarter. It has forecast Q3 2026 revenue of $4.69 billion-$4.77 billion, implying year-on-year growth of 15% to 17%.
For India, the sharp increase in first-time customers will be an important part of Airbnb's growth story. The challenge now will be to turn these new users into repeat customers while continuing to expand its host base and accommodation options.
