Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will meet representatives of the Confederation of Indian Industry on Tuesday to discuss reforms to the Goods and Services Tax framework, according to people familiar with the matter.
The closed-door meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., the people said, adding that the Finance Ministry will seek inputs and representations from industry leaders on the proposed overhaul.
Discussions will focus on rate rationalisation, the future of the compensation cess, and broad structural reforms in the GST system, the people said.
