To Manage ATM Cards Through Phones, SBI Launches New Facility

'SBI Quick' app will allow customers to manage their usage

To provide greater control to its customers over their debit cards, the State Bank of India has introduced a new feature called, 'ATM Card Switch ON / OFF'. The feature enables customers to control their debit card utility as it allows the card owner to activate or deactivate it for various services. The feature is available on its banking application 'SBI QUICK'.

For example, a customer, with the help of the SBI app, can turn-off the Point of Sale option to ensure there is no payment made at shopping malls, retail physical stores and petrol pumps. Similarly, the app can be used to turn-off the e-commerce option which stops all kinds of online payments through the ATM card.

Under the usage option, the debit card can be controlled for International and domestic usage as per the usage requirements.

To use the 'SBI Quick' app, the mobile number of the phone where SBI Quick is downloaded must be registered with the bank.

The SBI Quick app is available on Android, Windows, iOS and Blackberry platforms.According to SBI, more than 70 lakh customers have registered for 'SBI Quick' app, out of which 19 lakh are using the app version and the rest are using direct SMS and missed call facility.
