Metropolis Healthcare Q4 Results: Profit Falls, Misses Estimates

Metropolis Healthcare Ltd.’s fourth-quarter profit fell, missing estimates.

FY22 Highlights

  • After-tax profit up 17% at Rs 214 crore.

  • Revenue up 23% to Rs 1,228 crore.

  • Ebitda rose 20% to Rs 343 crore.

  • Margin contracted to 27.9% from 28.7%.

"We were able to record our highest ever Revenue, EBITDA and PAT in FY22. [This] Strong performance was on the back of robust growth in the sustainable non-Covid business," Ameera Shah, promoter and managing director of Metropolis Healthcare, said in the filing.

During the year, the company made significant investments in digital, marketing, widening of leadership team and expansion of service network, she said. "These investments we make now will enable us to create a backbone for the next level of growth that we envisage in the business and help us safeguard our margins keeping in view the increased competitive intensity in coming times."

Shares of Metropolis Healthcare closed 3.8% lower before the results were announced, compared with a 0.43% decline in the benchmark Sensex.
