Fadnavis Requests Maharashtra Governor For A Floor Test

BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis met Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari at Mumbai's Raj Bhavan after returning from New Delhi.

"We requested Governor Koshyari to ask Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to prove majority in Assembly," he said.

"We informed Koshyari that Uddhav Thackeray-led government is in minority as 39 MLAs of Shiv Sena want to snap ties with Congress and NCP," he added.

Thackeray Chairs Cabinet Meeting

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday presided over a cabinet meeting in Mumbai.

It was the first meeting cabinet meeting held after he divested rebel Shiv Sena ministers including Eknath Shinde of their portfolios. Talking to reporters after the meeting, home minister and NCP leader Dilip Walse Patil said no political issues were discussed.

Fadnavis Meets Shah, Nadda To Discuss Next Course Of Action

Former Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis met Union minister Amit Shah and BJP president J P Nadda to discuss the party's next course of action.

Fadnavis was joined by BJP MP and senior lawyer Mahesh Jethmalani in the meeting with the home minister, sources said. They are believed to have explored various options available for the party and deliberated on their legal feasibility as the BJP works to recapture power in Maharashtra with the help of rebel Shiv Sena MLAs and several independent lawmakers.

Return To Mumbai, Speak To Me: Uddhav Thackeray

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has written to rebel MLAs, asking them to return to Mumbai from Guwahati where they are camping with Eknath Shinde.

"Many of you are in touch with us, you're still in Shiv Sena at heart...As Shiv Sena's family head, I respect your sentiments, get rid of confusion...we'll sit together and find a way out of this...if you come forward and speak, we'll find a way out," he wrote.

Will Return To Mumbai Soon: Eknath Shinde

Shiv Sena rebel Eknath Shindea told reporters that he intends to return to Mumbai soon. He also asked the Shiv Sena to disclose names of his group MLAs who are reportedly in contact with it.

Shinde further said that he has 50 MLAs with him in Guwahati and they have "come of their own accord and for Hindutva."

No Proposal From Shinde: BJP Leader

The Bhartiya Janata Party has not held any talks with rebel MLA Eknath Shinde, according to senior Maharashtra BJP leader Sudhir Mungantiwar.
