The 2022 IPL mega auction saw a significant change in teams compared to previous seasons.

For one, in IPL 2019, during a game between the then Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals, R Ashwin had dismissed Jos Buttler at the non-striker's end, sparking a huge debate. Now they will play from the same team.

The 15th edition of the IPL will be known as Tata IPL after Tata Group replaced Chinese mobile phone maker Vivo to be the title sponsor.

The matches will start in April, as has tentatively been decided by the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

While the venues haven't been confirmed yet, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah told ANI that he is keen to conduct the game in India. "I can tell you that we will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that IPL stays in India," he told ANI on Jan. 22.
