Amtek Auto Slumps As Q1 Loss Widens To Rs 320 Crore

Amtek Auto shares fell over 6 per cent on Wednesday after the auto component maker's loss widened in the April-June quarter. 

The Sohna (Haryana)-based Amtek Auto reported a loss of Rs 320 crore in Q1 compared to a loss of Rs 158 crore in the corresponding quarter of last fiscal on account of lower revenues. 

Revenues of Amtek Auto fell 36 per cent to Rs 553 crore in the June quarter compared to revenues of Rs 866 crore in the year ago quarter. 

Higher interest costs, which increased nearly 39 per cent to Rs 328 crore, also impacted the bottom line of Amtek Auto, said analysts. 

Operating profit or EBITDA of Amtek Auto declined to Rs 91 crore in Q1 compared to Rs 174 crore last year. 

Amtek Auto shares closed 2.16 per cent lower at Rs 43.10 apiece compared to 0.13 per cent gain in the broader Nifty.
