Amazon India Launches Sunday Delivery Across 100 Cities

Amazon India will now deliver products on Sunday to addresses across 100 cities, the company said in a release on Monday.

"With our Sunday delivery promise, customers now have the benefit of getting uninterrupted deliveries of their orders through the week," said Samuel Thomas, director transportation & logistics, Amazon India.

"We are very proud to be the first ones in India to offer Sunday Delivery at this scale. This capability now allows us to make faster and more accurate promises to customers," he added.

The e-tailer also said that it would expand the services later to other cities too.

Currently, the delivery of a product depends mostly on the logistics company and most e-tailers don't always deliver a product on Sunday, as some courier partners and sellers do not work on Sundays.

After this launch, Amazon Logistics will consider Sunday as a working day while computing delivery promises and customers on Amazon.in can count Sunday as a regular day for receiving deliveries.

The company said that the customers who are ordering with one-day delivery on Saturday and selecting a residential address will now see Sunday promises instead of Monday promises that were shown earlier.
