Donald Trump has claimed that a “massive complex” is being constructed beneath a proposed ballroom at the White House, describing it as part of enhanced security infrastructure amid heightened global tensions, Fox News reported.
Speaking on Sunday, Trump said the underground facility is being built by the military and is already underway. He linked the substructure to broader security measures, noting that the ballroom itself will feature “bulletproof glass” and “drone-proof” protections.

“The military is building a massive complex under the ballroom, and that's under construction, and we're doing very well,” Trump said.
“We have all bulletproof glass. We have drone-proof roofs, ceilings. Everything is drone-proof and bulletproof, and unfortunately, we're living in an age where that's a good thing,” he added.
According to Fox News report, the proposed ballroom project, estimated at around $400 million, is designed to significantly expand the White House's capacity to host large-scale events and visiting dignitaries. Trump argued that existing facilities are inadequate, forcing past administrations to rely on temporary structures.
Citing Trump, Fox News reported that the project is being fully financed through private donations, with no taxpayer funding involved.
“All of the money paid is paid by myself and donors…it's all donors. There's not one dime of government money going into the ballroom,” Trump said.
The plan received approval from the U.S. Commission of Fine Arts in February, following a unanimous vote. Construction is slated to take place at the site of the former East Wing, which has already been demolished.

Trump also said the design of the ballroom will mirror the architectural style of the White House, positioning it as both a functional and symbolic addition.
“I think it'll be the greatest ballroom anywhere in the world. It pays total homage to the White House,” he said.
The proposal, however, has triggered political pushback, with some Democrats raising concerns over donor funding and transparency, calling for stricter oversight of the project.
