The Israeli Air Force (IAF) said on Monday that it killed Majid Khademi, the head of Iran's Revolutionary Guards' Intelligence Organisation. The strike, part of the ongoing US-Israel-Iran military conflict, was based on information from Israel's Military Intelligence, it said.

“Guided by precise intelligence from Military Intelligence, the Air Force struck overnight in Tehran and eliminated Majid Khotam-Khasini Khademi - Head of the Intelligence Organization of the Revolutionary Guards. Khademi was one of the most central commanders of the Revolutionary Guards and accumulated years of military and security experience,” IAF's post in Hebrew read on X.

He also reiterated that Israel's strikes against Iran will continue “on all fronts, until the threat is removed and all the war's objectives are achieved.”

Who Was Majid Khademi

Khademi was among the latest senior Iranian leaders to be targeted in the ongoing US-Israel strikes against the Islamic nation. He was appointed to his role after his predecessor Mohammad Kazemi was killed in an Israeli strike in 2025.

Israel has claimed that as a senior Iranian leader, Khademi worked to advance terrorist activities against Israel and Jews. They said that he was also responsible for collecting intelligence “used to formulate strategic assessments and provide situational intelligence to the regime's senior leadership during Operation Roaring Lion,” launched by Israel jointly with the United States on Feb. 28.

Israel also claimed that Khademi played a key role in overseeing the monitoring of the Iranian population and suppressing protesters during recent internal unrest in the country.

In May 2018, Khademi was appointed head of the Information Protection Organization of Iran's Ministry of Defence. He served in that role until 2022 and then became the head of the IRGC's Intelligence Protection Organization.

In June 2025, he succeeded Kazemi as head of the IRGC's Intelligence Organization after Kazemi was killed in Israeli airstrikes during the 12-day War. He reportedly held doctorates in national security and strategic defence sciences.
