There have been no "confirmations or denials" from the Israeli side on the fate of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, after Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed that it targeted his office in its latest missile attack.

The IRGC have termed the operation a "surprise" attack and has said that Netanyahu's fate remains "unclear".

"The office of the criminal Israeli PM, Netanyahu and the location of the regime's Air Force commander were struck in targeted and surprise attacks," the IRGC said in a statement, adding that the Kheybar Shekan ballistic missiles were used during this 10th wave.

Explosions and missile attacks were reported over Jerusalem on Monday. Israeli authorities said that missiles launched from Iran were identified and were being intercepted by the defence systems.

Following the Iranian assault, the US and Israeli strikes were intensified inside Iran, with some reports suggesting that the Natanz Nuclear site was targeted. Iran's representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said at a special session in Vienna.

The IAEA, however, has maintained that no damage was done to the site.

Following the attacks on Israel, there has been widespread speculation on social media about Netanyahu's assassination. The fact that there have been no "confirmations or denials" from the Israeli side has further fanned the rumours of his death.

The speculations will die down only after an official statement is announced by the Israeli authorities.
