US President Donald Trump has announced the formation of the Gaza 'Board of Peace', which is seen as a key part of the U.S.' phase two plans' of stopping the hostilities in the Middle East. "It is my Great Honor to announce that THE BOARD OF PEACE has been formed," Trump posted on his Truth Social platform.
Trump added that the details of his plans with the new board, including its board members, will be shared shortly, before going on to proclaim it as the "most Prestigious Board ever assembled at any time, any place."
Trump's announcement comes on the back of the formation of a 15-member Palestinian technocratic committee, tasked with managing the day-to-day government of the post-war Gaza.
The committee is set to operate under the supervision of the Board of Peace.
Trump's plans in post-war Gaza also call for the deployment of an International Stabilisation Force to help secure Gaza and train vetted Palestinian police units.
