Jailed former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan's sisters have levelled serious allegations of a “lethal conspiracy” to kill the former cricketer in jail, against the Shehbaz Sharif-led government and the “Asim Munir regime”.

Uzma Khan and Aleema Khan, who had been recently allowed to meet their jailed brother in Adiala Jail, have named Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi of plotting to kill Imran Khan.

“He told me, if anything happens to me in jail, Asim Munir will be responsible,” Uzma Khan has said. “He told me that they (military) will kill me slowly, and Asim Munir will be responsible for that,”

Uzma has maintained that she was now realising that Khan was right in thinking on these lines, given the way the jail authorities have been treating him, and what the people like Naqvi are saying.

“Mohsin (Naqvi) is threatening us; they have tasted blood,” Uzma said, as she threatened to pay back if Khan or any of her family members were harmed. “If anything happens to Imran Khan or to us, mark my words, we will not spare anyone's future generations either.”

Another sister of Imran Khan, Noreen, has also criticised Munir for allegedly not abiding by the Quranic verses he quotes in his speech. “The whole world is watching this brutality and inhumane, despicable treatment of Imran Khan,” Noreen said.

Noreen said that this (Imran's treatment by authorities) ushers in concerns about his legal rights, “And underscores the gravity of lawlessness now prevalent in Pakistan under this illegitimate, and un-Islamic rule.”

The government, meanwhile, has rejected concerns about the former PM's health, even as it has appointed a two-member medical team to examine Khan. The team concluded that the vision in the right eye without glasses was recorded at 6/24 partial, while the left eye measured 6/9.

The team has also reported that the swelling in Khan's eye has subsided, while his vision has improved with corrective glasses to 6/9 partial in the right eye and 6/6 in the left eye.

Naqvi, who also heads the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), has asserted that the government does not want to politicise Khan's health, “like the opposition has been doing”.

“The medical report also came in yesterday, and everything is clear,” he said.
