WhatsApp is introducing several new features designed to make the app simpler and more convenient to use. These features intend to help users better organise messages, separate work and personal life, and get more value from conversations. WhatsApp has added features that make transferring chats between phones, along with freeing up space, easier. iOS users can use two WhatsApp accounts now, and AI integration on the platform has improved as well. These features are beginning to roll out and will gradually become available to everyone in the coming days.
WhatsApp Introduces New Features
iOS users can now use two WhatsApp accounts on a single phone, just like Android users. This means there is no longer any need to carry two separate devices to manage work and personal chats. Users will know which account they're using because the profile picture appears clearly in the bottom tab.
Users can now easily delete large chats that accumulate over time. To do this, tap the chat name and select Manage Storage. When clearing a chat, users also have the option to remove only the media files while keeping the full chat history preserved.
The chat transfer feature now supports moving entire chat history from iOS to Android devices, in addition to transfers within the same platform. When switching phones, just a few taps help move conversations, photos, and videos.
WhatsApp will now suggest relevant stickers as users type emojis, helping add more expressive and lively responses. With a single tap, users can replace an emoji with a sticker.
Another addition is the ability to touch up photos using Meta AI directly within a chat before sending them. Users can remove unwanted distractions, change the background, or apply creative styles to images. WhatsApp said that Meta AI features may not be available to all users yet.
The AI Writing Help feature can now suggest a drafted response based on the ongoing conversation, helping users craft messages with ease.
