Google Launches Gemini 3.1 Pro — What's Changed And How You Can Avail It

Following the success of Gemini 3.0, Google has finally issued a much-awaited update by launching the Gemini 3.1 Pro, marking a key step forward for the model in terms of core reasoning.

This update comes just a week after the debut of its engineering-focused Gemini 3 Deep Think model and will aim to compete with the recent launches from Anthropic's Claude and OpenAI's ChatGPT models.

What Has Changed?

Google claims Gemini 3.1 Pro marks a significant leap when it comes to core intelligence. The company says the new model achieved a verified score of 77.1% on the ARC-AGI-2 benchmark, a test designed to evaluate an AI's ability to solve entirely new logic patterns. This effectively doubles the reasoning capabilities of its predecessor, Gemini 3 Pro.

Moreover, Gemini 3.1 Pro can target advanced synthesis, interactive deisgn and complex creative coding. In other words, the model can generate website-ready animated SVGs simply from text prompts, build a live aerospace dashboard utilising public telemetry streams and even code an immersive 3D interactive interface.

Google further says that the Gemini 3.1 Pro is a highly capable tool for building agentic workflows as it is able to bridge complex APIs with user-friendlyl front-ended designs. 

How To Avail It?

Google has confirmed it will launch Gemini 3.1 immediately across Google's consumer, enterprise and developer ecosystems. 

For everyday users, the upgraded model is available through the Gemini app, featuring higher usage limits for subscribers for the Google AI Pro and Ultra plans. It can also be accessed through Notebook LM, exclusively for Pro and Ultra tier users.

Meanwhile, Enterprise clients can access the model through Vertex AI and Gemini Enterprise, while developers looking to integrate the new model can do so in preview through the Gemini API in Google AI Studio, the Gemini CLI, Android Studio and Google's agentic development platform, Antigravity.
