India batter Dhruv Jurel said that wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant is experiencing pain in his right shoulder after the second Test against Sri Lanka at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo on Monday.
Pant was absent from the field when India came out to bowl during the final stages of Day 2, with Jurel taking over the wicketkeeping duties. India had earlier declared their innings at 503/9, before taking two Sri Lankan wickets, which led to 8/2 in three overs by stumps.
Jurel, who scored an unbeaten 115 off 177 balls, revealed after the day's play that Pant was dealing with a shoulder issue.

Pant Hit On Right Shoulder During Day 2
"He (Pant) got hurt on his right shoulder. Physio is monitoring him. Today, I kept wickets because he had pain in his right shoulder. Hopefully, he'll be fine tomorrow," Jurel said in the press conference after Day 2.
Pant had been struck on his right shoulder by a bouncer from Asitha Fernando in the 94th over of India's first innings on Day 2.
The left-hander was unable to judge the line and length of the delivery and was hit on the shoulder. India's physio attended to him and applied an ice pack before Pant continued batting.
He went on to score a stroke-filled and gutsy innings of 63 runs from 89 balls.
Earlier Blow To Left Wrist
Pant had also suffered a blow to his left wrist on the opening day of the Test. The wicketkeeper-batter was hit by a short delivery from Lahiru Kumara in the 58th over of India's innings on Day 1. He received medical attention on the field, with the physio applying ice to his wrist.
Pant also had his wrist taped before walking off the field unbeaten on three. The injury forced him to retire hurt.
Despite the setbacks, Pant returned to the crease on day 2 and scored 63.
India In Complete Control
India are firmly in control of the second Test after Jurel's unbeaten century helped the visitors post 503/9 declared; the 25-year-old remained unbeaten on 115, while Pant contributed 63 before India declared their first innings.
Almost every Indian top-order batter chipped in with valuable runs throughout the innings, helping India reach this position in the match.

Prasidh Krishna and Manav Suthar then struck in the final phase of Day 2 to remove Lahiru Udara and nightwatchman Prabath Jayasuriya.
India will now hope that the weather stays in their favour, with some reports suggesting a 50-60% chance of rain over the next three days of the Test match.
The Shubman Gill-led side will hope that their first innings proves to be the only time they need to bat in the match and will look to bowl Sri Lanka out within the existing 495-run margin.
