CSK are in a spot of bother as they find themselves at the bottom of the points table after their first two matches of the 2026 season of the Indian Premier League. The five-time champions had a disappointing start to their IPL campaign as they were beaten by Rajasthan Royals by eight wickets. That defeat was followed by a 5-wicket loss at the hands of Punjab Kings.
The Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side have several issues that needs to be addressed. In the defeat against RR, neither the batting nor bowling looked convincing. Against PBKS the batters put up a good show as the team put up a competitive score of 209/5. But a feeble performance by the bowlers meant that the opposition had little problems in the run-chase.
In sharp contrast, RCB were off to a flying start as they crushed Sunrisers Hyderabad by six wickets. The defending champions were clinical in every department as they chased down 202 with ease.
There couldn't be a better time or place for RCB to take on CSK and continue their winning run.
