Gujarat State Fertilizers Shares Fall As Profit Drops 89%

Shares of Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd. fell nearly 9% on Wednesday after the company's consolidated net profit plunged 89% in the fourth quarter of financial year 2024.

GSFC posted a profit of Rs 24 crore in the quarter ended March in comparison to Rs 225 crore in the year-ago period, according to an exchange filing.

  • Revenue down 18% to Rs 1,965 crore versus Rs 2,384 crore.

  • Ebitda down 92% to Rs 26 crore versus Rs 326 crore.

  • Margin at 1.3% versus 13.7%.

  • Net profit down 89.1% at Rs 24 crore versus Rs 225 crore.

On the NSE, GSFC's stock fell as much as 8.81% during the day to Rs 220 apiece, the lowest since May 13. It was trading 6.94% lower at Rs 224.55 per share, compared to a 0.10% advance in the benchmark Nifty at 10:21 a.m.

The share price gained 42.71% in the last 12 months and 6.94% on a year-to-date basis. The total traded volume so far in the day stood at 1.49 times its 30-day average. The relative strength index was at 44.23.
