The GIFT Nifty, an early indicator for the benchmark Nifty 50, is marginally down 0.01% at 24,098 as of 6:12 a.m. Equity-index futures for the US (S&P 500) was up 0.22% and Europe (Euro Stoxx 50) was down 0.46%.
India Market Recap
India's benchmark equity indices ended lower on Tuesday, after seesawing between gains and losses, as investor sentiment turned cautious on higher oil prices and Middle East tensions. Banks fared the worst during the session.
The Nifty 50 settled 97 points or 0.4% lower at 23,995.70. The BSE Sensex shed 416.72 points or 0.5% to close at 76,886.91.
Axis Bank and Maruti Suzuki were the top percentage losers on the blue-chip index. ONGC and Adani Enterprises gained the most.
US Market Recap
US stocks dropped on Tuesday as the S&P 500 Index fell from its record, primarily led by dip in semiconductor and other tech companies. The broad index fell 0.5%, with chips stocks Nvidia Corp., Broadcom Inc. and Micron Technology Inc. being top decliners. The tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 Index slid 1%, Bloomberg reported.
Asian Market Update
Following Wall Street's decline, Asian markets opened on a mixed note on Wednesday. South Korea's Kospi dropped 0.39% and the small-cap Kosdaq was flat. Hong Kong's Hang Seng futures stood at 25,762, previously closed at 25,679.78, CNBC reported. Japan markets are closed today.

Commodity Check
Oil rose as investors weighed in the next steps for peace talks over the Iran war, closure of the vital Strait of Hormuz and UAE exiting OPEC. Brent crude was near $111 a barrel after rising 2.8% on Tuesday, and West Texas Intermediate was above $99, Bloomberg reported.
