The courtroom drama Assi, starring Taapsee Pannu, is currently in its first Monday at the box office. As per early figures reported by Sacnilk, the film has collected an estimated Rs 4.25 crore India net so far in four days, with Day 4 numbers still being updated.
Directed by Anubhav Sinha, the film opened on Friday with Rs 1 crore and witnessed growth on Saturday, collecting Rs 1.6 crore — a 60% increase. Sunday maintained the momentum with another Rs 1.6 crore, taking the weekend total to Rs 4.20 crore.
Assi has earned approximately Rs 0.05 crore so far on its fourth day on Monday. These are early estimates based on limited advance booking and morning show data. Final numbers will be clearer once the day concludes.

Chennai recorded the highest morning occupancy for Assi at 19%, though from just 20 shows. Among major markets, the National Capital Region saw around 5% occupancy across 402 shows — the highest show count — followed by Mumbai with 4% across 312 shows. Pune and Bengaluru registered about 5%, while other centres such as Hyderabad, Kolkata, Surat and Chandigarh hovered near 3%. Ahmedabad remained lower at roughly 2%. Overall, the film posted a 4.09% Hindi occupancy in morning shows.
Director Anubhav Sinha has previously indicated that Assi was never positioned as a typical box office-driven entertainer, remarking that collection figures are “good gossip” but not the sole indicator of a film's value. He has said that the courtroom drama is meant to start conversations about workplace harassment and show the emotional side of legal battles.
Early audience reactions point to appreciation among urban multiplex viewers, particularly for the film's understated performances and grounded courtroom portrayal. Trade analysts note that socially themed dramas often rely on sustained word-of-mouth rather than opening-day spikes, making the weekday trend a key factor in shaping the film's overall theatrical run.
The coming days will determine how the issue-based drama performs through its first full week in theatres.
Produced by T-Series and Benaras Media Works, Assi revolves around a sensitive sexual harassment case, with Taapsee Pannu portraying Advocate Raavi. The film also stars Revathi, Manoj Pahwa, Seema Pahwa, Kumud Mishra, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Naseeruddin Shah and Kani Kusruti in key roles.
