Bomb Scare: Red Fort, Army School, Delhi Legislative Assembly Receive Threat Email; Security Intensified

Security has been intensified at prominent places in the national capital after an email threatened to destroy Delhi Legislative Assembly, Red Fort and Army School. 

Delhi Police said that so far nothing suspicious has been found, adding, the email mentions a Khalistani group.

"Delhi Secretariat received a bomb threat via email. The fire department received the call at 12 noon, after which teams were sent to the spot. Nothing has been found yet," said Delhi Fire Service.

Police said that Army Public School in Dhaula Kuan and Air Force Bal Bharti School on Lodhi Road received bomb threats.

The emails claimed a blast at the Delhi Army school at 1.11 pm, Vidhan Sabha at 3.11 pm and Red Fort at 9.11 am, they said.

Though the threats have been termed as hoaxes, security agencies are undertaking massive searches.

Officials said that as a precautionary measure, the premises were evacuated, and thorough search operations are being carried out. However, after nothing suspicious was found, it was declared a hoax.

""Our cyber teams are trying to trace the IP addresses using which some miscreants are issuing bomb threats," reported PTI quoting a senior police official.

The officer said that criminals are using the Virtual Private Network (VPN) to send emails to mislead police investigation. But our experts will find out the culprits.

In a post on X, An Aam Aadmi Party leader and ex-MLA, Dilip K Pandey said, "Today, I received a bomb threat on my personal email ID, and since the matter was related to public safety, I have immediately forwarded the email to Delhi Police."
