In a post on X, the IMD said that the southwest monsoon has advanced over remaining parts of states such as Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, some parts of West Uttar Pradesh, most parts of Uttarakhand, among others.
During this period, the conditions are also becoming favourable for further advance of southwest monsoon over some parts of Punjab and Haryana and Chandigarh and Delhi during the subsequent two days, the IMD noted.

IMD Predicts Light Rain In Delhi Over Next Five Days
The Southwest Monsoon usually reaches Delhi by June 30, but this year it's expected to arrive nearly a week early in the national capital. Ahead of the arrival of the southwest monsoon, Delhi residents can expect brief rain spells as light rain showers are likely to occur in the city starting Friday.

June 20, 2025 From June 20 to 23, the IMD has issued a yellow alert for all districts of Delhi. The weather agency predicted a generally cloudy sky with very light to light rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching 30 to 40 kmph, temporarily touching 50 kmph during thunderstorms.
On Friday, Delhi residents are likely to witness thunderstorms towards evening and night.
Following brief rain showers till June 23, the national capital may experience cloudy skies with light rain and thunderstorms and lightning on June 24, the IMD said.
